Overview
The Tsurumi LB and LB-A series are single-phase submersible portable drainage pumps built for dewatering in tight or confined spaces. Slim enough to fit inside an 8-inch pipe, they are a practical choice for foundation work, floodwater response, and general site drainage in construction, and industrial settings.
The LB series is manually controlled, while the LB-A series uses an electrode-type relay unit to start and stop the pump automatically based on water level. The auto-control eliminates dry-run risk, reduces power consumption, and extends the pump’s working life.
Both models offer a selectable discharge direction (vertical or inclined) to prevent hose kinking on site. An auto-cutout protector shuts the pump down if the motor temperature climbs too high, adding an extra layer of protection during extended operation.
Manual models need to operate in a minimum of 5cm of liquid; the automatic 800A model requires 17cm of liquid, and 480A model requires 12cm.
Key Features
Fits Inside an 8-Inch Pipe
The slim profile of the LB/LB-A series allows the pump to be lowered into narrow shafts, confined sumps, and tight drainage points where standard portable pumps cannot be positioned. On construction and industrial sites, access is often the limiting factor, and these pumps are built around that reality.
Selectable Discharge Direction
Discharge can be set to vertical or inclined to suit the site layout. The flexibility prevents hose folding at awkward angles, reduces wear on fittings, and speeds up setup time when the pump needs to be repositioned.
LB-A Electrode Relay Auto-Control
Rather than using a float switch, the LB-A series uses an electrode-type relay unit to detect water levels and automatically control pump operation. The electrode system is less prone to fouling in sediment-heavy water and provides more precise level control than a conventional float. Electrode extension rods available to adjust them to your required operational level.
Single-Phase Power with Heavy-Duty Wear Parts
Abrasion-resistant wear parts give the LB/LB-A a service life comparable to that of three-phase drainage pumps. For sites running on single-phase supply only, this is a significant advantage.
Auto Cutout Protector
If the motor temperature rises above safe levels, the auto-cutout protector shuts the pump down before damage occurs. The pump can be restarted once it has cooled, with no need for repairs or intervention.
Typical Applications
- Foundation dewatering on construction and civil works sites
- Floodwater drainage and emergency water removal
- General site drainage in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Site dewatering via narrow shafts or pipe-accessed locations
- Sediment removal from sumps and basins
- Raw water supply from lakes or rivers
- Decorative waterfalls and water feature systems.
