The Tsurumi UT and UTZ series are submersible pumps for sewage, wastewater, and liquids containing solid matter. These are available in single and three-phase models. The semi-vortex impeller provides a 35mm solids passage, significantly reducing the risk of clogging when pumping raw sewage or wastewater that carries grit, or organic material.

The UT series is manually controlled. The UTZ series is fitted with a float switch that automatically starts and stops the pump, preventing dry running and reducing power consumption when the sump or pit empties.

The 2-pole motor keeps the unit compact and economical to run, and the auto-cutout protector shuts the pump down if the motor temperature exceeds safe limits during continuous or high-demand operation.

35mm Solids Passage

The semi-vortex impeller gives the UT/UTZ a 35mm solids passage, which is significantly larger than most drainage pumps in this class. In sewage and wastewater service, where the liquid often carries fibrous material, grit, and solids, the wider passage means fewer blockages and less time spent clearing the pump.

Semi-Vortex Impeller

The semi-vortex design generates hydraulic flow that keeps solids moving through the pump without direct contact with the impeller. Combined with the low-height volute casing, the pump handles difficult liquids efficiently while keeping energy use in check.

UTZ Float Switch Auto-Control

The UTZ float switch starts the pump when water reaches the set level and stops it when the sump is empty. On wastewater applications that require unattended operation, the auto-control keeps the system running without manual intervention and prevents the pump from running dry.

Auto Cutout Protector

If motor temperature rises above safe operating levels, the pump shuts down automatically. The unit can be restarted once cooled, without any intervention beyond resetting the protector.
